Dear Winston
Who is ASA?? I ask this because I did not know that there
was an organizing group to contact the Trinidadian alumni.
If you have the list for the alumni contacted,
please send it to me to include it in the Circular.
I am glad that there is a telephone data base,
for local information exchanges.
Congratulations.
Ladislao

Caribbean
people nice anywhere you meet them.
Waitress
earlier was from Jamaica.......efficient and sweet too bad.
Young man Val
where I get breakfast is from Trinidad...... super guy and glad to talk about
his memories of home 21 years ago.
A Jamaican
lady just gave me a stirrer, cup full of skimmed milk and some bags of brown
sugar so I could brew (tea) later in the room.
When she fell
back in to her normal accent....."nah worry boutdatmaan".
As I
drove North on my way Diego Martin yesterday I left behind a persistent
overcast drizzle that eventually totalled 6.9 mm for the day (compared with
10.1 mm for the whole of January so a relatively wet El Nino dry season
day...welcomed).
As I
crossed the Caroni plain I drove in to good sunlight and looking East towads
Arima the hills were shrouded in black ominous looking rain filled clouds and
towards PoS dark cloud draped hills and overcast, it was as though I was in an
oasis of sun and a completely different country.
A
measure of the effect that our varied topography has on our weather and how
such a small island as ours can have bathing suits and brolleys out at the same
time.

Hi ladislao,
Hope all is well with you!
I remember in 1956 during the general elections,
for Bernard asking us to pray that the PNM would not win. So much for that!

I love reading all these stories.
I guess as just had my 80th birthday old age is
beginning to set in but I have come to the conclusion that as long as I can
keep opening my bar at 5 o'clock every day I may still have a few years
left---AM I NOT THE BANDIT
By the way does anybody remember the very first
sports day to be celebrated on the new play grounds where all parents were
invited.
What a day that was-there was a loudspeaker and
winners were given ribbons in front of the whole school and family,
I am happy to report that I won the pole-vault
at a height of 8 and 1/2 inches with a bamboo pole and a little hole to stick
it in.
Now have a good laugh now they jump higher with
out a pole.(HA-HA)
THOSE WERE THE DAYS I LOVE MY OLD MOUNT SAINT
BENEDICT-THAT JAIL ON THE HILL.
Later "Bandit"
